7 Things I learned from Highschool

Highschool…Highschool…Highschool,

Let me just tell you I am so glad to finally be out of grade school! I certainly won’t miss 7:30AM classes, heavy backpacks, 8 hours of school and just feeling like I’m in prison haha. But in all seriousness, it’s an important and sometimes fun part of our lives.

For me, I’d say it was more serious and boring but it was because I made it that way and didn’t take the opportunities that were provided to me. Now on to the things I learned..

For me, I’d say it was more serious and boring but it was because I made it that way and didn’t take the opportunities that were provided to me. Now on to the things I learned..

1) Be nice to everyone- Be approachable and kind to people and don’t seem unapproachable because first impressions are important.

2) Be nice to everyone buuuut not to nice- Ok, here me out now, of course it’s important to be nice to everyone you meet whether it’s in high school or any where you are but there’s a catch. So, in high school I was known as the “nice girl” because I was nice to people and didn’t curse too much or get involved with rumors or gossip.

3) Stand up for yourself and don’t be too nice- Going along with what I said above, being too nice can make you appear as an outcast and unapproachable, as it did with me. Also, don’t let people take advantage of you because you’re nice, they’ll try to but don’t let em.

4) points added to your final grade.Teachers are human too, well some of them- So teachers are usually really serious and can make them seem very different from students but when if you talk to them after class, you find out how much you actually have in common. And having a good standing with them can also help you out later if you need a few points added to your final grade.

5) Grades aren’t everything- Don’t get me wrong grades are really important both in high school and college, but don’t forget to have fun and let loose. Join extracurriculars and have fun with your friends.

6)  Don’t take yourself too seriously- I was guilty of this and felt like grades were everything but eventually realized that they’re not. And it’s important to have fun too.

7)   Be yourself- I know, I know, I know… this is an overused cliche but it’s so important. Find yourself and stay true to who you are. You’ll be outta here soon so make the most of and have a good time and be proud of who you are.
